SmartWatch in the 'Internet of Things' era
As part of the Human-Centered Design (HCD) course, year 1 NUSDID students worked on the SmartWatch design project following the human-centered design process.
While the SmartWatch market has been forecasted to grow from 15 million in 2014 to 373 million by 2020, user groups and roles of SmartWatch are not defined yet.
The project brief was to identify new target groups and new functions of a SmartWatch in the 'Internet of Things' era. The student groups identified prospective user groups who can benefit from the use of SmartWatch, then conducted in-depth user studies, built prototypes and tested them. Here we share a couple of project outcomes.
